hi all

i just want to know somthing that while all or letme say most of the racing categories use one kind o fengines in the series you found f1ing more than one kind of engines
v 10 , v8 and before it was v10 , v12 , v6 and so on oh yes now if the capacity of the engines are all fixed to 3.0 with different engines then v10 is definitly better than v8 and so on i dont really think its fair this is one thing .

second its much easier to detect a whole package of v8 engines than v10 and v8 and v12 engines for the rules .

ok these things makes the f1 so special and wide technology area but is it really fair .

One of the most important characteristics of F1 compared with just about all other formulae is that it is an engineering competition. Engineers try to design cars, engines etc. which give them an advantage over the others. I think it is important to retain that distinction. It is OK for, say, F3000 to have everyone use the same engine, because you are trying to contain costs, but it is not appropriate for F1. ALready, engines are restricted to no more than 12 cylinders, and there are increasing restrictions on the materials which can be used, and the designs (two strokes not allowed e.g.).
