sauber gets last years ferrari engine, right?
well what happens if the FIA changes the specs for it from the year before???

i'm probably just too new to remember this happening before, but what did they do???

Probably just miss out on the latest developments. Only 20 or 30 horsepower behind.

They were not running Ferrari engines then. In 94 they ran the first Merc badged Ilmors and in 95 (introduction of the 3 litre format) the Cosworth Zetec-R V8s.

In 93 the Ilmors were badged as Sauber V10s!

Of course the Concorde Agreement means that significant changes cannot be introduced quickly (is it 2 years notice or something?) except on safety grounds, so Sauber and Ferrari would have plenty of warning.

Sauber gets the last 'revision' of the 1999 Ferrari engine, 048B without the Beryllium parts , which has been out-lawed.
