As this car has absolutely no parts from the original car before the fire, surely it would not qualify for a Motorsports Australia (CAMS) Certificate of Description.

That must surely affect its usage and value.

According to the advertisement, the build of Sabakat was carefully overseen by the CAMS and the car now has an FIA HTP until 31/12/2029 meaning it is, apparently, eligible to race anywhere in the world.

I can add to the post #116 as to where some of the Sabakat parts went.

I am working my way through the Derek Jolly archive , he never threw anything away, on 12th May 1960 Derek received a letter from one Stud Beasley who had just bought the blown up FPF Climax from the original Sabakat. As Derek was the then agent for Coventry Climax his response was along the lines that yes a new FPF block might be available but you better have deep pockets!

The earliest item I can find so far is dated 1949, to do with the suspension settings on his Austin 7 - his 21st birthday present from his doting mother.

I can tell you for example that he won 255 pounds two shillings and sixpence for his win at Longford TT in 1960 plus 21 pounds to buy his own trophy.

The gearbox, which was from an MG Magnette sedan, would have become a spare part for someone...

The final drive was, from memory, an A-series BMC centre, probably in a special carrier housing and it had drop gears. So the drop gears and the special carrier housing would have been unique.

I see that Sabakat is still for sale.

Intrigued by the wording that it will be dearer if purchased by a non Australian. Haven't seen that before that I recall

Yet many other cars are refused as they are modified above original. As most racecars are to stay relevant.
