580 hp at the crank. That's not so shabby - I had expected less to be honest. I suppose this puts some creed in the almost-600hp ZL-1 version for the period. What absolute beasts those ZL-1 Camaros and (2) Corvettes must have been.

The LS-7 crate engine was something of a legend back in the day. With just a cam change and a good intake setup (they were sold less intake anyway) they made serious power.
