I'm curious as to how teams decided to opt for certain wheel designs. Take Ferrari for instance. Until 1985, the wheels were shiny and glamorous looking. In 1986 they were dark in the centre, 1987 they were all black and in 1988 for Brazil, San Marino and Monaco they were used shiny rims while for the rest of the season they were all black again. Any particular reason for using one design over another?
