I thought about a new thread topic about stories or tales that may not be so well known in motorsport or even have been forgotten about.
I recall hearing David Hobbs once telling a story about Le Mans 1985 (I think he meant 1984) when Sarl van der Merwe ran over a wheel rim in Porsche 956 and damaged the underfloor and jumped out saying “Jesus Christ there’s something in my leg” and this wheel rim sticking out. I presume this was from the Nimrod accident that year but I could be wrong.
