For Interest a classic race car.

Racecarsdirect.com - 1958 Vanwall VW7

I remember having a model of this and a Lotus 16 many moons ago in my first Scalextric set. Goodness knows where that is now?

This car has the "Monaco short nose body. I definitely prefer the normal nose which is more in keeping with the lines of the rest of the car i believe.

Wow, that’s a stunning set.

Terry is right though. Why wouldn't they make the replica with the sleek nose that is much more identifiable as a Vanwall?

The inference in the ad is that they have made a "replica" of VW7. This chassis number ran at many European circuits, not just Monaco.

That being said, I love the transporter.

Edit: Probably worthwhile reposting the Racecarsdirect ad in the transporter thread!

That nose is ... ugly.

4/10, could do better.

Whoever purchases the car can surely have a long nose piece made if desired. If this Vanwall is on your radar to buy, I wouldn't think it would be a deal breaker.

Perhaps the 'Monaco' nose is original.

Perhaps the original car did race with that nose, but if there is a choice of noses, why pick the runt of the litter?

Let's not get hung up on 'originality' here, this is obviously not an original car.

Anyone witnessing the **horror** Jimmy Durante had to live through would *never* suggest having a larger nose.

It’s bad enough that a car made him *kick the bucket*.
