Its really fascinating to see the amount of hand fabbed items that went into the construction of a chassis in those days....hundreds of man-hours of workOriginally posted by Exact10
[B]here are some more pics of the Eaton car, chalky is making a lovely job of it.
The inner and outer skins are original, floor is new and the bulkheads have all been reconditioned and painted.

Lee, you have not looked hard enough, the people/skilled are under your very nose , may be your glasses need a clean.?????????Originally posted by Lee Nicolle
How very disapointing. I have read this thread through from the start today and anticipating the car on track. It would seem to be very scarey trying to get highly skilled work done on these classic racers.

Ian having faith that the tub would arrive back in like new condition, was very surprised when he attempted to put the steering rack in the car. The rack wouldn't line up with the hole for the steering shaft.
Ian called England and asked what he should do to fix the problem. He was told to screw off. In other words a usless tub was sent back. Costing double what he was told it would cost to rebuild it. And taking over twice as long to do as he was told.
Ian has sold this project to a fellow in New Zealand and it is now in the very capable hands of Duncan Fox. I am sure when Duncan finishes repairing the tub it will be in like new condition and then the forum members will get to see the finished project.

Hi, this is O/T . I am trying to trace Giles Greenfield with regard to a Brabham BT15 that i believe he owned and raced in the 1990's, I am told that that an extensive retoration was carried out by Tom Rust. I have spoken to Bob Yarwood who did the MAE engine, he recalls Giles was in the Seattle area and may now be retired and possibly in Colorado. Reason for posting here is that Giles is mentioned re his McLaren and I assume he is the same guy?
Really enjoyed reading this thread, any updates due?

Four years later and still firmly O/T ... I am also trying to get in touch with Giles Greenfield. Could anyone help?
